Your Wedding Doesn’t Need To Be Perfect

One of the biggest misconceptions about wedding photography is that everything needs to be perfect to be beautiful.

It doesn’t.

Some of my favorite photographs come from the moments nobody planned:

A nervous laugh before the ceremony.

A friend crying during a toast.

A flower girl doing her own thing.

The best man realizing he forgot the rings.

Someone sneaking a slice of pizza before dinner.

Whether you’re getting married in a ballroom, a backyard, or a pizza parlor with a magician, the best photographs aren’t about perfection.

They’re about connection.

Years from now, I don’t think you’ll care whether every detail was flawless.

I think you’ll care about remembering how it felt.

And that’s exactly what documentary wedding photography is all about.
